Privacy & website data

This notice explains what happens when you read this archive, use its interactive tours, or contact the Institute.

Reading and exploring

You can read the site without an account. Tour controls and the archive search run in your browser. Their input values are not submitted as form responses, and the site has no registration, subscription or manuscript-upload form.

The site does not set advertising cookies or use advertising trackers. Ordinary browser caching may keep copies of public pages and images so that they load faster on a later visit.

Visitor analytics

The homepage, tours and selected paper pages use GoatCounter to understand which pages are read and how the site is used. Requests can include the page path, referring page and technical information such as browser, screen size and approximate country.

GoatCounter states that its visitor tracking does not store cookies or other tracking identifiers in your browser. Its service processes request information, including an IP address, to produce statistics; its privacy documentation explains its handling of temporary visitor recognition and stored statistics. This is distinct from the login cookies used on GoatCounter's own administration website.

You can prevent requests to the analytics service through your browser's content-blocking controls. The research pages and tour interactions work without the analytics script.

Website hosting

The site is served through GitHub Pages. The hosting infrastructure receives the requests needed to deliver pages, images and documents, including network and browser information. GitHub describes its data handling in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.

Contact correspondence

The contact link opens your email application. Sending a message shares your email address, message and any attachments you choose to include with the recipient and the email services involved in delivery. Correspondence is used to respond to your enquiry and handle the research or archive matter you raise.

For questions about website data or a request concerning correspondence you have sent, contact amos@constraintsystemsinstitute.org.

Following publication links

Links to Zenodo, GitHub repositories and other publishers take you to separate services. Their own privacy notices and settings apply there. Opening an external publication is separate from using this website's local tour controls.
